How much for this work upstairs?

Hi

OH & I are trying to work out a rough costing for the below work:

3 new internal doors supplied & fitted
3 new cupboard doors (louvre??)supplied and fitted (airing, bathroom and cupboard)
All new architrive (sp) to all doors/frames
All new skirting upstairs (2 bedrooms & small hallway)
2 bedrooms skimmed & coved
5 downlighters put in our ceiling
fitted wardrobes built to size in both rooms(1 room large the other small)
All woodwork, skirting & coving painted up
Walls painted with emulsion

I am not sure of the sizes in the bedrooms but our room is quite large and want the ardrobe going right across IYKWIM. DD's room we just need it utilised as best as possible and needs to last her till she's much older.

How much do you think roughly for all materials and labour? We are in Kent/London.

Thanks in advance.

  • I would say about 5 Grand but my quotes are usually on the expensive side of the line.
What did you get it to ? Out of Interest.

I had two downstairs rooms skimmed + coved, around 13' square each, which came to around £1200 ( I think?). Skirt + architrave was oak, which I stained myself. That's more expensive than pine (+ a complete b*** to mitre!), but at least staining is easier than painting. Doors cost around £100 + £50 fitting. each. That was for oak engineered. Painting I did myself :-)

    Thanks Debbie!

We had our lounge and kitchen skimmed last year and we paid £300 for them both. The coving we paid £40 for then £50 to have it fitted...mates rate for that though.

You'll be lucky to get it all done for 3k I would have thought.

The wardrobes alone are going to cost a bit, the skirting and archi will cost a fair bit too, especially as there will be a fair bit of making good. Is say you will be looking at around 5-6k
  • Thanks everyone. I think we will have to reconsider our options.
