i have had major problems over the last year since my ul canine has decided to grow in, i saw my dentist last year and told him things were changing, he said nothing he could do, anyway, over time my ul1 has been pushed forward, and my ur1 pushed back and to the left. i have had so much trouble as i cannot close jaw in right place, and developed tmj on left, jaw locks . and i have 24/7 pain and discomfort in whole of jaw. and can no longer stand it.
i was refered to the dental school, who said the pain was nothing to do with my teeth even though i told her i have so much trouble and cannot close jaw, and constantly try to move jaw to find comfort. and she said def not to do with teeth( which even i know it is, especially as in my mouth), and did i know i was in the orthodontics, i did not answer, s i wouldnt have been polite. anyway am put on two year waiting list, believe me i am very grateful, but the pain etc is just getting worse and worse, ihave even though many times about trying to remove top front teeth, so could at least shut jaw properly,
i am still waiting for a hospital appointment with the oral dept, but am so worried they will be the same and that i have to live like this. people dont seem to take me seriously, i only asked for help when i am desperate,
im 30, have cfs/me, and so annoyed that my body has given up in first place, and as i cannot work, or much else i cant afford to get private help.
sorry this is a mess, any ideas of how i can get hospital yo understand i can no longer cope with teeth/jaw.?THANKS to everyone who posts competitions. you are all :A.0 -
This sounds very like a jaw problem.
Hopefully you will end up in the right place soon, but having teeth out would only move the problem somewhere else.
A dentist who deals with TMJ/Jaw problems would be what you need, but as jaw problems take some time to assess and treat properly, I think you would be more likely to find one privately.
There are quite a few out there though. How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0 -
what seems so so stupid to me is the fact that i get told that helpimg my jaw will solve thingd, however, as my jaw is in wrong place because of tooth pushed back, how can my jaw possible be fixed until teeth are back to normal place?
my jaw problems started when i teeth moved, and before that jaw was fine, as funnily enough, was in correct place, where it had been for a very long time. i do not want my jaw fixed if in wrong place. whats the point ofthat, thats why im in so much discomfort as holding jaw open in wrong place.
if i remove front teeth why would jaw problem move somewhere else? it started when tooth pushed back, so if tooth not there jaw could go back in place. it belongs.
it would be to me like telling my mum, yes her cervical cancer has spread down, ut we wont give you the major op to remove the bits effected, the cause, we will remove your arm so it doesnt spread there, alright not a clever comparison, but lets face it, sort out the cause not the symptoms.
and yes my mum did have cancer.
thanks for your reply obviously, but i need the cause sorted, not the jaw symptoms. i have seen one person who also agreed that sorting the teeth would then help the jaw, but they were only visiting the place i was being seen at one point.THANKS to everyone who posts competitions. you are all :A.0 -
Teeth move about all through your life anyway.
No-one will have teeth in exactly the same position now as they were 10 years ago. Bone is constantly remodelled, and the bite forces and forces from your cheeks and tongue move the teeth about throughout the bone.
We're only talking fractions of mm, but they all add up.
So - the fact you feel your teeth are in a diferent position is irrelevant. That isn't the problem.
Moving the teeth around a bit may well help - but it's doing it the hard way!
Your symptoms have a very straightforward solution, and I would put your trust in the people trying to help you.How to find a dentist.

i appriciate your advise, i know teeth move throughout life etc etc, but everytime i bite i hit the ur1 with bottom teeth, its movrom centre to left and is very much pushed inwards, whilst the ul1 is 8mm forward, i understand what you are trying to tell me however, why move jaw so far out of postition when ur1 is so far back in mouth, it feel like im gagging when i hold jaw back,in wrong place, and thats the only place it closes due to ur1 being there, i certainly dont have any sy for the people trying to help me when its all down to a tooth, i wish they would just remove it. then i could close my mouth. i guess d have to see how bad it was to understand, anyway, i will stop wasting our time and look into private orthodontist,THANKS to everyone who posts competitions. you are all :A.0
