Carers Premium

Hi my daughter was awarded DLA middle rate at tribunal, and it was backdated to 30th October last year, which was when I put the claim in, I'm now waiting for my backdated carers allowance, but I'm confused, because when I look on entitledto, it says that I should be entitled to £37.70 IS, but when I looked on DWP website, it says that the carer premium is £27.75.
I'm already on IS, AND I'm trying to work out how much CA I'm owed, but can't until I know how much they are going to dock off.

Thanks

  • The money YOU actually receive will be the amount of the carers premium from oct until when the IS people take their bit off. You can get a general idea by working out the amount of weeks you will be owed in carers premium(not carers allowance) and x it by the £27. It wont be exact but it would be a rough idea. I am on IS and claimed carers allowence this year. IS take what they are owed and then the carers people send you your lump sum.

It's not clear from the post when you actually put the CA claim in - after the appeal was upheld or when the DLA was actually claimed. If the latter you need to reclaim CA as it will initially been refused because the DLA was. If you don't you won't get paid

Scooby1001 is right about how to calculate what money you'll actually receive.
I'll get you, my pretty, and your little dog too!
