tax credits arghhh

I am tearing my hair out with this , i changed my circumstances in march tax credits were stopped .... first they told me my new address did not exist and to double check it !!!!!!?? .
Then after 4 weeks i phoned them to ask them how it was all going and they had said they only just received it about a week before  , then i left it another 3 weeks phoned in and asked what was going on they said it was still being verified 2 weeks later they then said they had a problem with someones identity..... handed situation over to mother ( social worker) .
Mum spoke to them said she was going to complain they told her not to and that they will try to resolve over phone we waited .....nothing phoned again told to complain....

so the first perosn was just trying to stool the complaint we have now written a letter just to get a responce saying we hope to review in october .
I really relied on my tax credits i cant work more as for i was relying on the child care support they offerd iv cancelled as many direct debits as possible only to recive cancellation fee's a few which i have avoided luckly.
iv heard that u can go to your local tax office and ask for help but im not sure in my case.....
has any one else had this happen ??

  • I would go to your local tax office and make an appointment to speak to someone. My sister recently had problems with her tc claim and was getting fobbed off on the phone, being told different stories by different advisers. Then she went to her local tax office they sorted it out straight away apparently there was an error on the system that was removed.
