Car warranties

I just bought a car that is 3 years old. The manufacturer's warranty expires this week and I'm looking for a new warranty. I have had the car serviced and repaired under the existing warranty already. There are lots out there, some include servicing and MOT, some don't. Has anyone got any advice on purchasing a warranty or recommend one? I'm confused by all that's on the web!! Maybe I shouldn't bother getting one?? :money:

I wouldn't bother personally. I think the general consensus here is that when something serious goes wrong that will cost hundreds to repair, you'll find the warranty company will not want to pay out and will say it is wear and tear which is excluded under the terms and conditions. Best thing to do, take the money you'd spend on the warranty and stick it in a high interest savings account. If you ever need a repair it's there ready for you, and you don't it's earning interest. £500 set aside should see you through most of the worst possible things that could happen.0

Thank you for that. Just been reading some reviews and seems quite a few people have trouble making claims against their warranties, so maybe I will just put some money aside for ad-hoc repairs and servicing. I have a Chevrolet Matiz 2005 and am hoping it won't be too costly to maintain
