Computer turning itself off

Please help.
My pc just keeps turning itself off with no warning. I could be just looking at the internet or not even connected to the internet and then black screen? I've run virus scans and malware scans and they haven't detected anything.
Sometimes it can happen once in a day, sometimes sveral times a day. The quickest it turns off is within about 5 mins of starting up and sometimes it can work for several hours. We don't even have to be doing anything on the computer it could just be on one minute then a black screen and we have to press and hold the power button to switch it off properly and then wait a few minutes to start it back up.
Please help, its seriously frustrating!!

Sounds like it could be hardware problem. What make/model/spec is it?0

open it, clean the dust out by the fan- its overheating.0

Best thing to do is just before windows starts, go into the bios or something and leave it overnight, if its a hardware problem it would most likely of switched off by the morning, if its not then it may be a software problem.
If the hardware was overheating, the computer should not switch on once its switched itself off, its a safety feature.
But do be careful, my old computer went up in smoke due to dust on the CPU fan. ( Litrally smoke was coming out of the case with a horrid smell )0 -
Ive seen it a million times, lauhol. Your problem is dust.0
