How do I find my local police auction? Also, after a search I found https://www.swoopo.co.uk. Does anybody know if this is a trustworthy site and worth registering?

dont know about that one, but I recall an ebay user that was police auctions and the feedback was appalling.

Anyone else remember them?

EDIT: I see there's a link there to Bumblebee autions, which appears to be an online site for UK police auctions.

My local ones are advertised in the local press and are not online. Maybe you could scan the free locals, or read the local (paid) paper (usually there's a copy in the chippy/ library etc)

And Swoopo is a gambling site rather than an online auction site in the conventional sense. You buy bids, but there is no guarantee that you'll get anything at the end.

I remember the one that used to auction on Ebay, sure I bought something off them, was always interesting to check out their listings though.
