  • Hi,

    Hope your happy with yours.

Because i lost over 25 stone back 4 years ago and waited 4 1/2 years to get my skin removed on the NHS. Sadly i am on my third operation and mine went terribly wrong. It left me with loose skin still and i nearly died on two occasions including 18 bloot clots one was 2litres in my stomach and bowls/bladder etc shut down, there was several other things that went wrong aswell which require a second emergency operation, i had my thrid operation at the end of July 2008 and am still recovering thats how bad things are, things look better of course but not how it should be i also got another now on my legs as i told them they are not touching my stomach again i got a ( I ) shape cut on me frmo hip to hip, rite up the stomach centre and from arm to chest then to other arm, i am like a piece of meat.

I hope my other one goes alrite, but so far with my terrible experience i would never advise anyone to have it done unless it is private and a highly recommended surgeon, sadly NHS surgeons have not got a clue, because they reconstruct people who for example may have had severe burns, disfugurements they think they can also do abodomenplasty etc which as i have learned they can't.

    Regards,
    CGUK

I too lost a lot of weight (nowhere near as much as you though, how did you do it?) and was offered tummy tuck etc on the NHS but decided not to go through with it. After much soul searching I decided that I like me the way I am, loose skin and everything.

It's a personal choice though and I would never knock anyone for having improvements ;)

    Hi,

I lost my weight by first walking for 2 miles per day for 2 weeks then went straight up to walking 10 miles per day, i lost my weight in 9 months which was way to quick, with the walking i eat sensibly and healthy and thats about it. Exercise and healthy diet. I also agree it's personal choice and if someone wants it them of course go for it, i am just one of the very unlucky ones who has not had what i suppose to have had.

Thanks everyone for you kindness and lovely thoughts. :)
