non techy blonde needs help

Hi, I could use some help here as a non techy person!
I have recently subscribed to Sky plus and have the box in the back room which stores any programmes I want to watch. In the front room I pay for another box which receives sky but doesn't have the store facility. I have, in the front room a Samsung DVD-VR350 DVD Recorder/VCR Combi, which works fine with the TV but if I am in the front room I can't watch any programmes stored on my Sky box in the back room (sorry, hope you're still with me) I had the idea that if I buy a DVD recorder, (another Samsung DVD-VR350 DVD Recorder/VCR Combi) then I can download Sky programmes stored in the back room and then watch the DVD in the front room. God, is there an easier (less expensive) way around this or do I need to go out and buy another Samsung DVD-VR350 DVD Recorder/VCR Combi. Thanks in anticipation!

There are several things you could do.
1 Relocate you Sky+ box to your front room, assuming that is where you usually view your programmes.
2 Replace your standard Sky Box with another Sky + box.
3 Run a cable from the Sky+ RF2 output to your second TV, by a magic eye controller and watch the Sky+ recordings from your front room. This is the cheapest way of doing things. You can buy these from Tesco and the like.

That gum you like is coming back in style.
  • Slightly lost - have you got multiroom? If so ring Sky and say you're thinking of cancelling and hang out for another Sky + box for the front room. If you haven't got multiroom, its £10 per month and if you haggle right you can get a Sky + box out of them for it.
