Our seven hours are currently 7.54am to 2.54pm. I was really surprised when I checked it as our meter was changed a while back and I assumed the time would be kept correctly on it via radio signal.

It suits me fine as I am usually at home in the morning so do all the washing etc then, but I am keeping a close eye on it in case it suddenly changes. So don't take your supplier's word for when your cheaper hours are, check them on your meter yourself.

Im in the East Mids and the fella who changed my meter the other week said that it is 1am to 8am currently. However, it may well change with the clocks in October. Fortunately, my new meter indicates which tarriff I am currently operating on, so a quick check either side of 7 and 8 in the morning come october will indiacte whether the period has shifted an hour.

Incidentally just to add confusion to it, the time on the meter reads one hour ahead for some reason. The meter bloke said they all do.
If you have a mechanical timeswitch, then the times vary by one hour depending on whether it is BST or GMT (no one comes out to reset the timeswitch). They may also vary depending on the accuracy of the timeclock.
If controlled by a radio signal then the times are constant and accurate all year round. I am radio controlled and the time on the meter is the current time, not one hour out.
