Tuesday 09/09/08 - What DFW thing will you do today???

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.

Hi to any new posters and a big shout to the usual gang.

Today I have/will do
  • woke up late this morning (hence the late post!!!)
  • did not make breakfast or lunch, so will have to suvive on coffee and apples for breakfast and buy lunch - perhaps I can sweet talk my hubby!!!
  • will continue to look for a cheap holiday
  • try not to spend too much
Think that is about it, have a great day

    Morning All :hello:
Well I ate (and drank :o ) so much last night at a works do, that I'm not sure if I'll need to eat my packed lunch today I still feel full :D

    So today I have/will:
    • piggy clicks - beginning to call them pointless clicks ;) I think they only turn up on Mondays.
    • Quidco has tracked, I wasn't sure about this one, I bought annual travel insurance for me, and a single trip ins. for DD, through the same company a day later, and both have tracked :j
    • brought in packed lunch
    • am sending details of more of the same sort of stuff that one of my buyers is interested in. I've never listed these, so I don't think it is fee avoidance, but I think I can sell him a bundle more off e-bay.... I can't list anything as DD has taken the camera on holiday.
    • I'll keep looking for mystery shops but there's another barren patch.
have a good day everybody :D

  • Morning all!

A dull and dismal day here in London!

    Anyways today I will/have

    - Do clicks
    - Comps - at least 10
    - Have a NSD - 4th in a row! Horrah!
    - They had a do at work last nite and there was lots of fruit left, so have figs, bananas, apples, oranges, strawberries, dates and grapes! That's my lunch sorted!! Very healthy and free!!
    - Get new mobile today, which comes with a free digital photoframe - which completes my xmas shopping - as I am going to give it to the rents for crimbo! Horrah! :snow_grin
  • morning all

woke up sneezing this morning - surely it can't be hayfever it is pouring with rain here!!

so went downstairs to be quiet - oh hates being woken up before alarm!

    so far today i have:
    - made loaf in bm
    - put fruit in to soak for farmhouse tea loaf
    - got haggis out of freezer and chopped veg for dinner tonight
    - cleaned kitchen
    - made oh's lunch
    - used tumble dryer   (still no heating and pouring with rain so no other option)
    - filled out dvla form
    - started filling out a form for oh

as oh has hopefully organised mate to look at boiler i am stuck at home at least for this morning so plans for the rest of the day are:
    - check credit card online - done
    - work out how to pay avon for first order - done!
    - e-mail mum to remind her of avon deadline - done
    - stamp some avon order forms
    - do some more baking
    - if it stops raining pick apples - still raining

oh no  postman has just delivered letter from northern rock - looks like morgage will be going up by at least £150.00 a month in december     - help  . had better see if i can get hold of my morgage advisor to see what i can do............

plumber did not turn up but can't really complain as he is doing me a favour...

phoned northern rock - does not look good as to get fixed rate will have to do their transfer thingy to lloyds - which will mean they will credit score me... so that means i could be stuck on standard variable rate with nr until i get sorted out but how am i supposed to do that when paying an extra £150.00 out a month???

also been on phone to e-on and n power to try and sort out the mess that is my transfer of gas and electric!

but the good news is i am going for a job trial tomorrow!!! bonus is that if i want to i can work from home too but it is commision based so don't know how much i could earn..

also, so far have resisted going to shop for milk and used dried skimmed milk powder in my tea - not nice but no cost!

    loki x
it's nice to be important but more important to be nice!! :kisses3:
