Can anyone give me some recommendations for smart mens shoes... bit of a broad subject I know but I don't mind paying a bit for them provided they are going to last.
Basically I'm looking for shops or brands, just because I don't have a whole day free to go round the high street... I'm looking for black shoes that I can wear with a suit... I play in a small function band for weddings/parties/functions every weekend so I absolutely have to look my best and I've been wearing a pair of old battered shoes for as long as I can remember.
I have had some bad experiences with Next shoes... my last 2 pairs have fallen apart within a couple of months.
So any recommendations would be great (as long as they're not Next)

I would like to buy a pair of slip on shoes, but I have to wear special inner soles and all the slip on shoes in Bluewater shops have the inner soles stuck down0

I always get my shoes from Jones the Bootmakers.. great shoes in the sales. Otherwise, you could always pop into Clarkes0

I can recommend clarkes too...I got a pair from there (well, an outlet, anyway), just black, simple, slip on shoes. Really comfy, cost £20, scrub up well for a suit, don't look stupid with jeans, have been worn a couple of hundred times and look almost new...Can't complain...0

In fact , when my house has sold , I'm going to invest in a couple more pairs (and a Raymond Weill watch !!):money:The truth shall set you free.....................0 -
I normally buy my Jone's shoes from a shoe shop in Watford - it has a couple of great sales a year where i've bought shoes at half price0

Reminds me of the 18 yr olds that come round trying you to change your gas/electricity supplier , wearing their £39 suits and big , clumpy shoes feeling like a million dollars:rolleyes:The truth shall set you free.....................0 -
