I tried doing that twice, and was told I couldn't.One SA even tried charging me £12 (full normal price) saying that it was £24 normally and that £12 was the half-price. I told her politely what I thought of that, and she looked at me very confused and asked me why I didn't want to buy it.

I aint intending on doing this (of course) but i did notice yesterday when using the SS tills that there is the option on there to pay with points, are these tills programmed to refuse payment by points once vouchers have been redeemed?
Any idea anyone?
Yes they are programmed not to let you pay with points if you've redeemed vouchers, I've tried and failed. But I did confuse it yesterday so it only asked for the cash balance and not the voucher to be stuck in the box.
As for no reduced R&M with vouchers, they just make it up as they go along. I've had 4 "free" half price make up bags with the prinkies.0 -

I totally agree - it so depends on the store and the SA. Unfortunately, my local nice store doesn't sell R&M.
The SA told me I could use a pinkie to get the palette down to £7, but then I would have still been paying more than the correct half price of £6 (and wasting a pinkie).0 -
Have pinkies stopped being issued????0

My mindset has very much changed now. What's most important to me is getting bargains and the most I can for my moneyEver since all the "points hoo-haa" has begun I too have been spending them as quick as I'm collecting them - as soon as I get to £15-£20 then I'm getting rid of them. It's just not worth the risk imo. I too agree that it seems like MrB is cracking right down on ACs and points and I'm not risking losing mine.
Just my opinion of course, but I would urge anyone with a large amount of points on their card to seriously consider spending them because there seems to be no rhyme or reason to why points are being confiscated. Boots can withdraw the points from any card for any reason at all, it would seem. So, even if you've done nothing wrong at all (never used more than 1 mag vch, never done more than one 'glitch' etc...) I would still urge you to start getting rid of them asap.
I have £150 on my card, and was gonna give Boots a miss for a week after all the till spit and no7 chaos. Would i be wise to get down and spend them?
I have only heard of PC customers losing points. Have other people lost them too. I was saving mine for christmas, but it sounds like they are not safe with Boots.0 -

Hi c101: How much did you have to spend to get the £5 off electrical tillspit?"Buy me, Lady", said the frock, "and I will make you into a BEAUTIFUL & WHOLE & COMPLETE human being"."Do not be silly", said the Man, "for a frock alone cannot do that"."True", said the Lady, "I will have the shoes and the bag as well".:rotfl:0 -
No Max Factor GWP left in the Metro Centre last night - boo!
I did try the white L'Oreal GWP meant to be free with £15 on facial stuff and that goes through free with no spend as well. Not worth it though, even free, for whats inside!
No Dior mascara samples left and the EL woman wouldn't let me have a sample without a print off from the internet.
I did buy those Remington Straighteners discussed on here yesterday. Mine broke on holiday  (after only 4 months so got a refund as soon as we got home) so decided to use some of my points balance on them (getting worried I am going to lose them!) Used the straighteners this morning and they are totally fab, I love them!0 -
