MBNA - confused.. :S

Hi all,

Quick question for the ever helpful forum!

I have a credit card with MBNA (a football one) - two months ago I was written to by MBNA who said that they were terminating their association with the said football club and therefore would be closing my account.

Fine. However I have a 0% offer valid until November, but my account was closed at beginning of August. Letter did not mention any promotional rates.

Then about a month ago I got a letter saying that following the closure of my account, rates of 34.9% would be applied following my september statement.

Again, fine (not nice, but I accept it!) - however I have just had my september statement though and under interest rates there is a code for promotional rate of 0% valid until November!

What do I assume? Will they start charging 34.9%, or will they have to honour the 0%? I have not invalidated it in any way (i.e. not gone over limit or missed payment etc)

Any ideas??

Thanks!!

I think that if they have agreed 0% until November then they have to honour this even if they transfer your account to a new one.

I suspect that they will have moved the 0% promotion over the the new account.

If you have any doubts then I would give them a call to ask. If they have not moved the 0% promotion over then I would think that you have a good cause to make a complaint that they are not honouring their agreement with you.

    Good Luck.
