cordless phone disconnecting broadband

Hi
In the last few days my broadband connection has dropped a number of times and i've concluded that it drops everytime i use my cordless DECT phone (BT Synergy 6410) though i've never had this problem before. I know its the cordless phone at fault because i don't lose connection when using a non-cordless phone and i have already checked the filters and the master faceplate socket, there is nothing wrong with them. So before i go and buy a new cordless phone could someone confirm that it is the phone itself at fault here rather than the wireless aspect of it? I use a Speedtouch 585v6 b/g wireless router but am i right in thinking if the wireless frequency of the phone was interfering then it would only affect the wireless connection to/from the router rather than disconnecting the router?
Thanks:)

Anything that emits radio signals can affect broadband. Could be either the signal from the phone or a fault with the phone that's not apparent on the voice side of things.
After similar trouble in the past I now have the base set for my cordless on an upstairs extension well away from my router. If that's an option and not too inconvenient try that first.“I look like Spiderman at a funeral”~ Karl Pilkington0 -
Maybe try changing the Wifi channel on your router?
Most routers are set at a channel 11 by default, so try a different one to see if that helps. I can't promise it will, but it might...0 -
Just to say that we have this problem with our cordless too; for the moment we've got a second 'normal' phone so use that when the computer is on.
I'll show this thread to DH when he gets home; I thought it might be to do with our antiquated telephone pole in the village - some wires are actually tied on with string!
