zero feedback bidder, advice please

I've just sold a musical instrument for £100 (buy it now) but the buyer has zero feedback. They have paid by paypal. I was scammed last year (mobile phone) when paypal took back the payment (without any warning or recompense to me, and the police were not interested either). I'm not at all sure what to do.

Check for confirmed address and that all names match.

If the address is confirmed then ensure you send it by an online trackable method (special delivery, courier etc) so you can defend a Paypal claim if need be.
  • Send it tractable. Courier will probably be best. Musical instruments are going to be much less of a target for scamming toe rags than mobiles.

Confirmed addresses don't matter when it comes to PayPal claims.

Just make sure it's sent tracked.

It's not possible to tell in advance if a payment is legit as they all are until they're reversed.

The only thing you can do is block bidders with strikes, but that won't protect you from hacked accounts.

As they are a winning bidder, you can get their contact info from Ebay. Check that the address matches to delivery address and give them a phone call. You should get a sense of what they are about speaking with them.
