Hi pammsy, I didn't mean to be unfriendly - I was serious, suggesting ways for people to help themselves makes them bigger and better people (you always learn more from what you do for youreself, rather than what you're just told).

Am I missing the point of these forums:confused:

Yes you can research but that can take a long time so surely to ask like minded people of here will be quicker. I am always helping people out and do not have the slightest problem as I know many things, in myfield, that would take people so long to find out.

And in my field, you never ever stop learning (because knowledge never lasts) and you will learn a lot more by doing rather than getting.

There's a good saying that goes something like "tell me and I'll forget... show me and I might... let me and I will". I believe I was helping, but if I give you the quick answer today, you'll probably ask someone for a similar quick answer tomorrow. On the other hand, if I explain where you can find the information you need and let you do your own research, you will develop yourself more and learn to find the answers yourself, which most people find more rewarding.

It didn't take me long to get the answer - just a couple of minutes. But without showing her what she should look for she might ask the same question about 10 different banks, and still come out none the wiser. Personally, I'd rather be taught than told - sorry if you prefer it on a plate.

(edit - incidentally, where someone has asked for something a bit more "commentary", I've given what I think are some very helpful and direct answers, but if someone asks for easily-found info I'll probably continue to point them in the right direction).
You've never seen me, but I've been here all along - watching and learning...

This has also been well covered on this forum, a search would quickly turn up the info...
