YBS Regular Saver

Hi,

Ive recently got the interest from my year with the YBS Regular Saver and am looking to transfer the majority of the £6000 in it to my Kaupthing Edge account, I was just wondering if anyone knew what the minimum balance is? Ive looked at their website and cant find any info.

Also, is it worth keeping it open and just paying in the £10 per month on the off chance that they up their rate, or shall I just close the account?

Cheers,

Paul

MOB is £10 but wise to keep at least £100 in an account with the YBS just in case they get taken over.

Maybe open their rollover Bond with £100 paing 5.50% gross and close your regular saver. http://www.ybs.co.uk/savings/future/rollover/index.jsp

Bear in mind that your £6000 will earn only 2.85% from the beginning of September upto the date of closure if you decide to close it.
  • Cheers for your advice, Ive now withdrawn all but £100. Is there any reason for going with the Rollover Bond rather than any of their other savings accounts?

The rollover Bond is an open and forget account, it automatically rolls over into a new one year fixed rate on each anniversary.

Alternatively, you could carry on with the regular saver paying in £10 per month.

Also, you could open their Online Internet saver, pays 5.7% gross and comes with a ATM card. TBH, the amount interest you get with a £100 investment is not worth worrying about.
