Has anyone had any experience of using taxis or hire cars (not self drive) in St Petersburg, Russia ?
Prices, reliability, helpful English speaking drivers etc.

we went a couple of years ago. there were taxis readily available from our hotel (cant remember the name). they were cheap but most didnt speak brilliant English. one tried to annoy us by playing music very loudly so he was pretty surprised when we gave him a tip. another was really helpful and bascially gave us a guided tour. it's an amazing city, but be prepared for the locals not always being particularly helpful.0
