following on from looking at my friends benefit stuff the other day i thought i should have a look at mine, am beginning to wish i hadnt now lol
i looked at my tax credits award for this year and find i am only now getting CFC at £33.75 whereas last year i got CTC and WFTC amounting to £78...
our earnings did go up from our rental flat to approx £2400 which is about what we have lost in tax credits (£45 x 52).. we only have an income of approx £16k which includes my IB and DLA, is this right do u think?
also as i am not now getting WFTC does it mean i could claim free school meals or am i over the limit with £16k?
thanks so much to everyone on this forum who clears the fog for us all, u do a wonderful job and we (well i am) very grateful for your time and patience

i think school dinners is 13k a year...0

No free school meals if you (or partner) works 16+ hrs per week0

You need to look at your total tax credit award for the year as it is possible that at the start of the tax year until you completed your renewal, you were being paid too much. Then as soon as you completed you renewal the award was adjusted to make sure there isn't an overpayment at the end of the year.0

i get only working tax credit and i have to pay for dinners but my friend gets both wtc and child tax and she gets them free i think u can earn up to somthing like 15k it should all be on the wftc webbie good luck
:T I love MSE ! :j0 -
Your friend may be claiming free school meals fraudulently as you cannot claim free school meals if you qualify for WTC (meaning that you work 16+ hrs p/w).
