Maintenace Grant Payments on time?

Does anyone know if when the student loans company says it will pay in the first installment on a certain date is it guaranteed?
I ask because looking at the dates of the money going in (from student loans) and the money going out (to the uni) they are very close together and I am worried that if SLC are late, there wont be the funds in the bank account for the uni to take.
On the payment schedule there is a little footnote that says payment will only be made providing your university has confirmed your place to us or some such wording. But people wouldnt know if they have done that or not ??

Ask you university. Mine activate student loan on the day I get my student card (Wed 17th) even though student loan is on Monday 15th. So Wed 17th Activiated, 3 working days, so Friday 19th I should get the money. (Or 22nd if its late)
If they are close together I would be extremely careful as they may not come on time.0 -
Have just found out that SLC money goes in on 16th Sept and first payment to uni goes out on 29th Sept. Maybe not quite as bad as I thought but still fairly close!
You know what SLC are like, I just hope there are no last minute hitches!
Thankyou0
