Hi
After the birth of my son 2 years ago I looked into going back to my job full time however I was advised that I was not entilted to any help with the cost of childcare.
I work part time now in a small office however I can maybe have the opportunity of more hours but if I need to pay for the full cost of childcare it wont be worth my while.
I was speaking to a lady who works with a family member and she works 20 hours a week at £6.00 per hour and her husband is on a salary of £25,000 per annum and gets 80% of her childcare costs.
Last year my annual earnings were just over £6,000 and my husbands were £23,000 so how come we are not entitled to any help with childcare.
Thanks in advance for any help or advice.

with that income, then she wont be getting any help towards childcare. unless she has lied about her figures, or is is paying for more than one child, or pays astronomical childcare rates
We have a joint income of less than your OH earns alone, and we still dont get any help towards childcare, so all i can assume is the people who get childcare help, are those who more or less pay the same for childcare, as they earn per hour
