Scam - Unrequested statement of fees with attached zip file

Options
Having received emails from UPS in the past and avoided the potential zip file risk, I was suspicious to receive today an email from unknown sender 'Minnie':
'Please find attached a statement of fees as requested, this will be posted today.
The accommodation is dealt with by another section and I have passed your request on to them today.
Kind regards.
Minnie'
I have no knowlege of this sender or any request of mine.
I did NOT open the attached zip file.
The sender's email domain is bluelakecamp.com, which appears to be associated with a website for a Christian Retreat Centre in Andalusia, Alabama USA.
Anyone know if this is a recognised scam format?

• Ahoy-hoy

It's not a scam, but i suspect the zip file is loaded with all manner of nasty malware, virii, keyloggers or other assorted nasties...

As always, never, ever, EVER open a zip file from a random source. Unless your extremely confident in your antivirus to pick up & eliminate all known virii (i dont & i work in IT).
• Yes its a "nasties" email. This has been emailed to everyone at my work for a few months now and techie people issued an advisory. It is allegedly from either UPS or as though you have booked a flight or holiday emailing you "statement of fees" don't open it

My hubby's boss got one and as they were expecting a statement from UPS opened it.
The computer went blank straight away and it took the IT bloke 3 days to fix it!

The domain names are often fake email address's. It probably has nothing to do with this site.
• I received some very official looking emails yesterday mentioning price lists etc with zip files which I didn't open and deleted but today i have received two slightly different versions of this

I am slightly worried but the only way to contact these people is by telephone and I wonder if that is the scam - premium rate number? Has anyone seen these before? They have used my correct address only adding a number before @. icon9.gifI have checked my online cc which show nothing strange but funnily enough I did just order and receive a laptop from amazon last week - is this just coincidence? - obviously not the same laptop! Sorry if this sounds confused!!
• Question Number 1. Did you order these Goods?

If not, then it is SPAM SCAM

I get at least one a day and I use IUPS.

I sorry but it is just obvious that it is not from UPS just look at the e-mail address it has come from. It does not say calley@ups.co.uk or calley@ups.com it some random address.

And it is badly written and just not what you would expect from an e-mail from a company.

I am not even sure if UPS send out e-mails to account holders as my invoices are paper ones.

!

Yes I got it too as did many other people. If you google the number you'll get some hits.

Looks like a premium rate scam - I just deleted it.
• This one takes the biscuit.I don't know what sick twisted individual thought of this one but have just received the following email:

"On Internet forums there appeared messages of a powerful explosion at a United Kingdom nuclear power station located in the suburbs of London..
According to witnesses' statements the explosion happened at about 3 pm on the 9th of September.
In particular, one resident of this town has made a call and had time to inform her relatives that connection in the town was being cut off in order not to let people phone somebody.
She insists that the explosion really took place at the nuclear power station, and that it was a really powerful one, and now the radiation cloud is moving.
This information is being unofficially confirmed in public agents' private conversations.
Besides, local residents place pictures of the explosion consequences and victims' bodies in their blogs.
The photo's attached to this email!
Send this email to your friends!"

the email had a zip file attached purporting to be photos of the explosion.Nevertheless it got deleted straight off.....
