Tesco - no receipt with grocery delivery

I had a Tesco grocery delivery on the 27th August and the driver didn't have a receipt/delivery note for me. He signed the delivery on my behalf with an 'X' (without my authorisation..he was in a hurry), promised to come back with a receipt later that day and off he went.

He never came back with a receipt and I contacted Tesco by phone, who promised me they would get one sent in the post to me. A few days past and no receipt, so I called them again. They put me through to the store who promised to send a receipt out that same day, first class post.

No receipt arrived so I emailed Tesco, no response..so called 2 x again and still no receipt.

I am very annoyed as I always check the goods I receive against my delivery note as the last few deliveries, I had items missing that I have been charged for, or been overcharged.

I know it is only a receipt but to me it is a way of checking things off and I am sure it is not that much to ask, to have a receipt sent to me.

Anyway, rant over.

  • Why don't you check the email confirmation they send you when you place your order?

    That lists everything; thing is, can you remember everything that was delivered to tally it?

  • the same thing happened to us, Tesco are a pain.

    Still awaiting a credit for some eggs! we sent back over a week ago

  • If all else fails go into the store you ordered from and ask to speak to their duty manager or dot com manager (dot com are the ones who deal with the home deliverys and picks etc). If your there face to face they can't fob you off with an excuse. I know that when customers pay via credit card at the till we can get their receipts printed off in the back in around 20mins or less so Id imagine the same would apply to the online shoppers
  • The email from when you order online won't match delivery.

    Prices can change, items be unavailable, substitutions made, items missing from baskets, special offers / multisvae deductions not come off.

    I have never in all the years of using tesco online had a bill match exactly.

  • I had a Tesco delivery about a month ago without a receipt. The driver was very helpful though and was able to tell me about substitutions and missing items from his little electronic delivery pod. He also explained that there was a problem with receipts that day and that it would be forwarded by post. Anyway, about a week later my receipt came and all the discounts and 2 for 1 offers seemed to be on there.
  • I use Tescos loads they're fab maybe its just a one off or your area?
