Getting really annoyed now.....

I reached an agreement with British Gas to pay my electric by payment card and to pay £32 every two weeks, the gas was agreed to be paid the same way except it was agreed at £20 every two weeks.

Now, I have stuck to this agreement but I have been paying £10 every week for the gas and £16 every week for the electric.........it still works out at the agreed amounts. However, BG have canx the payment scheme because they say although they have been receiving the payments they were not what was agreed. So now they are saying despite the fact I have been paying the money regulary my gas bill has in fact increased and I owe them more money than originally stated (the meter has been read recently and I gave my readings again today). I have now agreed a new payment scheme with them and will pay £34 every two weeks for the electric and £60!!!! for the gas!.

I just do not understand how the gas bill could have increased that much, I don't really use that much gas and I have been paying it off. I am extremely annoyed with it all and want to change suppliers but can't afford to pay BG off in full.

I was just looking for advice really to see if there was anything I could do.

Have you checked the accuracy of the readings used in the bill?

Have you asked BG for help in understanding your gas use?
