i've managed to break my laptop!!!!!
put it down on the sofa.(i know silly me no air)....(when it was writing a dvd!!!!) came back to it and harddrive was making the dreaded sounds of being broken
screen frozen....wouldn't restart.........i managed to get it back working for a bit and get all my persaonal files off.....(bit of preying worked!!!!!)....very lucky as i also hadn't backed up all my photos ...of babies
now it wont restart or do anything........missing files blah blah blah.....i think the basic gist is that i need a new harddrive......but i've no idea about laptop parts
if someone could point me in the right direction that would be great.....laptop is the gericom one from aldi a couple of years back
thanks

laptop hard drives are pretty standard Usually 2.5 inch and cost £50 upwards depending on capacity eg

Replacement is usually pretyy straight forward. On many laptops there is a panel on the back about 3 inches square which you remove and the hard disk just unplugs.
You are assuming the hard diak is the problem of courseTANSTAAFL !0
