Credit Crunch officially OVER

Comments

  • Barratts - BDEV - peak over 1200, at mid-August hit 110...

up by 50% - FANTASTIC, all is rosy!!

...to 165, still 80% down on the peak.

I know we don't recommend single share reliance on here, but some people who had stock options thinking it would be a nest egg, are now stuffed.

I think the credit crunch is what you make it... For the ones amongst us who have been living within our means, it is quite a blessing.
It has meant for me getting great rates on my savings, and given me the ability to buy a house much more cheaply than I could have done a year ago...
    Same here!

Is that not the risk you take? Like on the other hand people making a mint in the last month.

I agree, unfortunately Gordon has been doing his best to make your savings worthless, keeping HPI out of the inflation figures meant that interest rates have been too low, if your a tax payer, you will have barely broken even over the past few years with your savings, however GB doesnt care about savings, after all he's never saved a penny of the countries money in the good times, just blown it like a Mewer on speed.

How have I been childish! Sorry you have all converted me I am now agree with you all!
Sorry how I have been provocative today? Surely this thread is!
Also I said Shares your right I was never talking about one company, I was talking about the market as a whole as the OP did not state a sector!
Are you still here? I thought the school holidays were over

Unfortunately I have to concede, the good hasn't been as good as it would have been without this annoying government interfering... Anything he has 'done' over the past few months to 'help the housing market' has in fact affected me in a bad way... it is annoying to see all of these people living on credit are seeing all the perks!
  • Is that not the risk you take?.

    Oh for crying out loud!!!

I said up front "we don't recommend single share reliance"...

You do NOT need to state the bleeding obvious AGAIN.

Like you ALWAYS do when faced with a fact that contradicts your argument.

You and others were debating over whether there had been any 90% share drops - I found a 90% share drop...(tacking the aside on was my mistake in trying to demonstrate the possible serious effect of such an occurence, I suppose)

So you go off on a tangent making a point I made in my own post...damn that's clever/helpful/typical.

90% share drops - yes or no, discuss..

Granted, if someone was brave and thought we'd hit the current bottom, and invested last Monday or some such, they could make "a mint" today - depending on how much they put in, of course.

Equally they could have got hammered by the 200 points dropped off the FTSE at the end of last week, which is part of why we got a 200 point bounce today...

(Deliberate mixture of single stock and FTSE figures to demonstrate that we can all muddy up the water where it helps avoid weakness in our points!:p )

Sorry my point was that they are up today (it's the OP who as got his knickers in a twist about 90%). Yes they did drop by about 90% two months ago They are not that low now, Actual TW are 230% up from low. Or is that irrelevant?
Do current prices not count on this board!
Just feel this is a bit of a rescue for a embarrassing post(OP) by one of the in crowd! Nice try of a turn-a-round though.;)

We should have an age verification system for new registrations. I'd swear justpurchased is about 12. It's totally pointless trying to debate with this dolt.
