London weekend 25-27 October with children

We are taking the children to london for the weekend, they are aged 5,10,14. I just wondered if anyone could suggest somewhere to go in the evening. We are staying close to Hyde Park. Any ideas for cheap places to eat would be great. I also thought of the theatre but did not know which show would suit their ages, plus it will need to be near hotel as I am nervous about taking children to London. We are planning to visit the museums and the Tower of London. Any help/suggestions would be greatly received. Thank you in advance for any replies.

This is what we are planning with children age 12 and 11.

Eat at Tesco clubcard deal places - Planet Hollywood at Piccadilly in our case.

Original Bus Tour - again with clubcard deals - look at website - that wil enable you to see London on a tour bus. We are going to do the childrens sightseeing trip and the museum tour popping off at the National History which is free (as are many of them)

Shows. I think Lion King is lovely for children - especially your two younger. That is in the West End - so, perhaps a taxi or the matinee, which means travelling in the afternoon not night. I have seen Lion King so would be happy recommending it - but shows are expensive, very, unless you get a deal somewhere.

I think the show Wicked might be closer to you and again great for the two older - its near Victoria Station, I think.

I'm also thinking about Billy Elliott but the language may be too rich for your youngster. I don't know if shws have certificate ratings like films, I suppose they ought to really.
