Lexmark X4550 Wireless All-in-One Printer (Print/Copy/Scan)

  • this printer is great, good copies etc. Mine printed about 125 pages before the black ink ran out. I drilled a hole in the top of the cartridge and refilled it with ink. The printer is so clever it knew exactly what I'd done and refused to work with "non Lexmark ink". OK so the replacement cartiges are only about £12 a time but my refill ink was much cheaper than this so in the long run it isn't a bargain to those of you who want to refill cartriges yourself.I've heard there are some refillable versions of the cartridge around and will be testing these out if I can get hold of them.

I have a slightly older lexmark and have had no end of trouble with reman cartridges. Be wary of trying them as I found the online retailer i used would not take them back.

well I have had lexmark from the beginning of my pc years and so far I have not had any problems...
I use the ink refill packs myself and have not had this problem...I don't put a screw hole in though I tap the top of the ink cartridge off with a hammer and then stick them back on with the tape you get or abit of cellotape electricians tape and they work fine...
    :D

    Plans for 2009
1/ Get fit. 2/ Get my figure back. 3/ Get the MAN BACK! :kisses2::happylove

The X4650 is £60 at Tesco Direct - ordered it 2 weeks ago using a code for 1000 extra points when you spent £50 and had it delivered to local store, so just picked it up when I did my normal shopping.
    This is now £128.75 - you had a bargain!:T

All these printer mentioned above are good one way or other but what about Printer/Scan/Copy/Fax???

Well you can pick one up for £50 - quidco discount (Epson). Individual inks and compatible ink can be found every where for really cheap.

I recently posted it but no one probably noticed it..

Places to buy - PC World, Currys and Epson websites....

    Hello,

This printer is now half price, in-store, in Wilkinson's - saw it yesterday in my local store (Crystal Peaks, Sheffield).

It is marked £49.99, but each of the 4 boxes had half marked price stickers on. Quite a bargain for a wireless printer, and an excellent present.
