  • You can get the infinately superior Canon MP520 from Argos for £64.99 and it has a huge LCD screen for photos and the print quality is superb.

All reviews of the Lexmark say print quality is poor.

If your not bother about the LCD you can get the Canon MP210 for around £35 and the MP220 that has card reader for not much more. All much better than the Lexmark.

I think the OP was pointing out that for a wireless all in one this is a bargain....which it definitely is.
  • I am sure this is the one I bought today at Morrisons for £50
  • Have you checked how much the ink costs? As this is where the companies make most of their money, hence the reason they introduced chips on ink cartirages to try and prevent compatable inks being produced (claiming they were breaking the security on their chips). The cheapest printers available, tend to have some of the highest ink costs.

this is a brilliant machine. build quality brilliant and customer services are amazingly helpful. i would love to buy this wireless model but it would be replacing my non-wireless model which looks like it will last for ever. ink cartridges are probably a little more than some makes but you can get deals from all sorts of places and i've found the cartridges last for ages. would definitely recommend it.

  • I have this Lexmark model and it's fantastic. Really easy to set-up in both XP and Vista, and works brilliantly on my wireless network. Print quality is fine - I've printed all sorts of things on it, photos, thank you cards, etc... and have had no problems with quality. More expensive models will no doubt be of a higher standard, but for general use this is a great value printer.

Cartridges aren't that expensive either. My local Asda stocks them, and they also do lexmark compatible cartridges at great prices too.

So if you're thinking of buying this, don't be put-off by the harbingers of doom who would have you believe that you'll be re-mortgaging your house to pay for ink cartridges and printing out smudged, unreadable documents!

The X4650 is £60 at Tesco Direct - ordered it 2 weeks ago using a code for 1000 extra points when you spent £50 and had it delivered to local store, so just picked it up when I did my normal shopping.
