Oops I've just put a hole in the wall

I was er removing tiles from my bathroom wall and the last two believe it or not came off leaving a messy hole in the wall. The walls are obviously just plaster board. I've managed to fill in with Polyfilla, but will it hold?

it should do but depends what size. I always you the expanding foam filler for biggish holes. There is also something like a crepe bandage you can apply before re plastering
    I haven't got one!

Minor compared to what my BIL did one day......

You have hole in bathroom wall...BIL had no bathroom wall. He also decided to take down another wall near the stairs.

Are you going to retile over the hole? it might just disappear ok.
A good tecnique for filling holes in plasterboard is to find a bit of wood that will fit sideways through the hole but is wider. Drill a hole in it and put some string through with a big knot on the other side. Push the wood through the hole, turn it sideways and use the string to pull it tight up against the back of the plasterboard. Finally while pulling the string to keep the board in place fill the hole with your choice of filler. When it is set trim off the string and you should have a perfect wall!

Well at the moment it has held all night, i'm going to put one mnore layer over to make sure. I'm not going to tile over, i'm going to paint two coats of white paint over it and then the colour i'm doing the bathroom which is a dark colour so should hide it. If the hole does reappear i'll do what you have suggested, it's a brill idea :D

An alternative/similar to basill's suggestion is to use expanded metal mesh http://www.catnic.com/MetalLathandArchFormers_display.asp?DetailId=1 although you may have to blag a builder to get a small enough bit.. This helps to 'key' the plaster as it pushes through the holes in the mesh.
