Student Money Saving Website? Anyone?

Hey there guys and girls  (obviously aimed at the student crowd!)
I absoloutely love this website and especially this part - it helped me SOOO much when I was starting uni last year and I still come on here anonymously reading the threads - its amazing to see just how helpful everyone is...
Anyway, I have wanted to do something for a while know (due partly to inspiration from Martin) and wanted to make a website about money saving...but specifically for students. I think at a time when costs are high, and students are ending up in financial trouble, it should go down pretty well...
The problem is although I have some experience with websites, it is going to be a huge task...I know.
And knowing that I'm back to uni soon, I was wondering if there was a like-minded student here who could help and contribute with the website.
That means writing stuff, finding deals and all sorts. But most of all, passion for helping!
I think it makes sense if only students contribute, but even if you are not and are interested, please feel free to contact me too.
So if you can see yourself doing something like this, please reply to this thread or pm me - I really believe in this and want to work with someone(others) who have a similar view.
I will appreciate any response or advice from anyone about this...
All the best
Look forward from hearing from some of you...

not that i think any of these websites are as good as MSE, i thought i'd link to them all since this seems to be a very crowded market already
. most student unions also have very good sites on financial management.

if you're going to spend time and presumably money to set this up, make sure you're offering something that isn't out there on multiple sites already. those sites took 5 mins on google to find......:happyhear0 -
Thanks for your reply melancholly...appreciate it
You are absoloutely correct - there are a lot of websites out there (I am familiar with some of those). But as you know there is tons of competition in most areas, and there are still a lot of potential students out there that access none of these sites.
I agree with you on the 'unique' part to make it different - I didn't have the means a year ago when I wanted to do it back then.
Hopefully can get some more feedback and replies?0 -
I will be watching this thread, and wish you good luck.
My daughter is leaving school at the end of this school year and going on to learn to be a Midwife.
I will need all the help I can get arranging every thing she will need. I had better start now for next year

Hi good idea in theory, however as previously said there are many websites already out there that specialise in this area. And to be honest as a student i personally dont think any website would help me more with money saving, vouchers, offers etc... than this one.
I wish you luck with pursueing (sp?) with this idea though!!Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0
