First time user so apologies if this has been asked before!!
I'm off to Italy next week and have a hire car booked through Avis - not the cheapest I know but when we arrive its always the quietest and service is really good:cool: .
They always try and sell insurance but I noticed insurance4carhire.co.uk mentioned. Has anyone ever dealt with them? Do they cover all the costs?
Hope you can help!

i think that they do excess waiver policies, so if the hire car has a £500 damage excess on the policy you get with it the insurance for car hire cover pays the £500 for you if you bend the hire car. the rental company will also try and sell you this excess policy when you rent, but for more than the (i think...) £50 that I 4 CH do it for...
HTHif it's more than 10 stone, and that hairy, it's probably not a dog...it may be a wookie.0 -
carhire-excess-insurance.com also do it, you're basically covered for windscreen chips, not being able to drop the car off due to illness etc, if someone scratches your car or if you're ill and can't drive the car, you get a refund so pretty good cover and can save a ruined holiday if something happens and you have to pay out £500 through no fault of your own.
The hire car companies insurance is nearly always far more expensive as they get you at the point of sale and know people will buy it so it's always better to book online through an independant broker.
One thing it won't cover you for though is if the accident is your fault or you've broken the hire car rental terms i.e. speeding, car left unlocked etc0 -
