You on about the LHC? No. The world's not going to end on weds. They're only turning it on and firing the particles around one way, not opposite directions so they collide. That's at the end of october and there really is no need to worry about it even when they do.OK so is the world actually going to end on Wednesday or not

Essentially what they're trying to do is recreate the moments after the big bang, and trying to find out what happens to the particles. The particles colliding at that speed *Could* potentially create microscopic black holes, similar to those found on the edges of our atmosphere.
