Mint The Card That Likes To Say No

Options
I applied for a Mint card today.

I own my own home (over 12 years), do not have ccj's and have never defaulted on anything.

I hold other credit cards, and am employed.

Yet having filled in the on line form, within less than 10 seconds of pressing the "apply now" button I was told that my application was rejected.

I then checked via Zopal my credit score (who ue Equifax), it is 518 (in the top %)

Any thougths as to why Mint don't want my business?

  • As always, it could be any one of a number of things. You give no specifics, but do you have a significant amount of available credit on the credit cards you hold, any reason for any part of the RBS group to hold an exclusion over you?

Have you actually asked Mint why you were rejected? They will actually know, rather than us lot guessing :D
  • No reason RBS should not want me, I already have at least one card with them.

They say they will write me a letter...just wondered if Mint had a reputation for being difficult?
  • When i applied for a CC with them, they gave me a ridiculously generous limit compared to others, so not in my experience. However, i am but one man.

That may actually be the problem. Some institutions don't like you to have more than one of their cards at any one time.

  • oh well, I will wait and see what they say in their letter...thanks for your thoughts on the matter.

That is the reason they do not want you.
