windows Update advice

hi. I have Xp2 and microsoft is trying to update me to xp3.
Pretty sure it had nasty probs last time I had it. I re-installed op sys and am happy with existing but what is '3' like now.
Are there no probs with it, now?
Ps Can't remember what the probs were bTw

i have sp3 and it seems OK - I think a few friends had conflicts with games when it first came out - but I havent had the same problems .Don't try to teach a pig to sing - it wastes your time and annoys the pig0

there were some problems with AMD processors , was a legacy thing that also affect SP2 but some motherboard makers had forgotten againEx forum ambassador

There have been problems reported with it, That said I have it on one box and it went ok, though that was a pretty clean box software wise, I declined it on my laptop, which has a lot more software on it. Mainly the service pack consists of security updates and patches, all of which you will have if you have kept updates uo to date. AFIK it brings very little of anything else, if you do not want to install it, and don't want it bugging you next time you are offered the install, select custom install and unselect the box next to it then hit install, it will pop up a box offering you not to be told of this update again.Hope for the best.....Plan for the worst!
