  • Here's a thing.....?? Does anyone know why grated pre-packaged cheese is cheaper than buying a block??

I noticed in Lidl that their grated mature cheddar cheese was over a £1 cheaper per KG than the block of the same. I've just checked in Sainsburys, and yes, there too, the grated mature cheddar is over £1.50 cheaper per KG than the block of the same???????

I checked the nutritional breakdown, and it was almost identical, except that the grated had a minute amount more salt, but it really was only a fraction more.....

    Any ideas??????

PS... I wouldn't ever normally buy grated cheese, on the basis that it's far more expensive..... obviously not!

    Hi everyone

I got home at about 12 but wanted do quickly do some flying before I got on as DS is in the worst mood today. Had him help me (or rather trail around behind me keeping me company) whilst I did the dailies and started the list. Now he's asleep, Im taking the time out to do admin type stuff.

    So far today I have:
    • Made beds (and changed DS's as nappy leaked)
    • Washed last nights dishes
    • Swept and mopped lounge and kitchen
    • wiped kitchen couters and cupboard doors
    • Hoovered bedroom, hallway and stairs

And heres what's done on the list:
Friday Flyday- those frightening kids rooms and spare rooms I don't have a spare room so I pick the lounge or main bedroom to do again, chose bedroom as most of lounge was redone yesterday as a result of pc area

[/STRIKE]Still dont have any, although I have two bin bags in the shower. Have arranged to take then down to the church at the end of the month for harvest. Will just have to stay in the shower for now

    Extra Task List
[STRIKE]open a drawer you haven't actually looked in for weeks and deal with whatever treasures you find within![/STRIKE] No such thing in the bedroom. No had I decided to redo the lounge there would have been a whole bookcase:rolleyes: Nope...Im doing the cake this afternooon

thats some list PIGPEN - but i can see that you have done quite a lot on it already - well done - REMEMBER TO EAT AND BREATH !!!!

It is a very scary list.. but I haven't done anything off it.. I've barely made a start.. but that is the list being presented tonight and everyone can have a bit because I cannot do all that on my own before Monday. It simply is not possible!

Eating is possible but breathing is giving me a headache!

It must just be there then because I looked at it in tesco and it was twice the price!!!

Maybe it is all the scrag ends of cheese from the block packaging process which just get grated and they may as well sell at a loss because it would otherwise have gone in the bin!

Oi whats up with my internet? The smileys are all just image boxes:confused:
Holly Sorry you'ree not feeling well, it must be doing the rounds.
Pigpen shame, and on a Friday too.
Boddy I dont know who said it, but I agree. DF and I barely touch base during the week so our weekends are important (which reminds me-it should hopefully be even more so soon...;) )
Wilff forgot to mention about BM, ask away. Im not sure Im the only one on here who uses one-but I do use it almost everyday
Johanne That is SO annoying, DF does it too and then I'll say something like "you know, we should start thinking about christmas" and he'll respond with "well, really Im getting a bit worried about all the money you've been spending, can it wait until next month?" ....HA what money? The extra stuff you're saving coz Im doing all the coupons and vouchers and freebies?

Ah got to the bottom of the page and found out about my smileys:o
So Ive only caught up one page and will continue later....

I have to start the ENTIRE cake again, I had the not yet set bits in wax wrap in the fridge last night, DF thought they "were just pancakes" and put the left overs on top of them-so now they LOOK LIKE PANCAKES:eek:
So thats why I got it all done this AM-I have more people to let down now than just myself if I dont submit an entry:A

What I really need is a Wall calendar - have had a little look on the net, but they all seem so technical (and expensive) Anyone seen one for under a tenner? Reminder to self

By the way someone was asking about cleaning tiles. I had a bit of mildew on some of my tiles along the growt. Wonderful stuff to use is Dettol Mould and Mildew remover, comes in a bright green bottle, just spray on, leave for half an hour and wipe clean - magic.

Right DS1 wants to make some cakes, so I need to find an easy all-in-one recipe first as I have forgotten.

    See you later

I use the quote function cos then you don't lose the bits you've already struck (striked?) through! Then just delete all the bits you don't need that you've quoted including the [quote/ ] things at the beginning and end and it just appears as a normal post :T

Thankyou - that really helps, and saves time
