Weekly Flylady Thread 8th September 2008

Hello All,
Back from Leisure centre - the lady at reception was really quite rude and wouldn't find someone to show us round and said that we were better off coming back during the week. We were told we could look around ourselves and were given price list (it wasn't even as if she was busy and she could easily have called someone). Don't think I'll be joining there. Cannons are about the same price I think, and they are a lot friendlier. They have a bring a friend weekend this weekend, and my Dad is a member, so my Mum and I are going to go tomorrow for free, and see how much it is to join there. Silly woman lost out on a possible 3 adult memberships! Silly moo.
Anyway, gave my Mum some weetabix cake when she came round, and she said that the flavour was nice, but it was a bit chewy. Well we like it, so all the more for us.
Just making myself some marmite on toast for lunch and then I'll be up for flying again.
Anyone care to join me for a HHC 1.30-2?
Oh dear, it's just started to cloud over here, and I've got 2 loads on the line, and one that needs to go out soon. Keeping my fingers crossed that it blows over.

Hi all!
Spent a very enjoyable half hour catching up with you all!
Have brain like sieve today - so in short HUGS to all and congrats for lots of flying!!
Been busy today - returned Brownie District Accounts to their owners, took gingerkids for swimming lesson, popped to town to pick up birthday prezzie for DD1s friend, christening prezzie for tomorrow, and bought congrats card for friend at work.
DH is currently trying to jet wash the shower trayMust be some boy thing! I asked for it to be cleaned!
Plan for rest of afternoon: do some baking (requests for lemon drizzle cake, cookies and weetabix brownies), quick tidy round and get ready for in-laws visit later.
See you later!

Hi everyone,
well my day of housework yesterday ended up in a day of paperwork for work so got absolutly nothing done yesterday... (plus I fell asleep for 3 hours :shhh: - keep feeling realllllly tired lately... more iron tablets again I think!)
So today I got up and did loads:- Dusted, vacuumed and tidied front room (had to get done before motorracing started...)
- Sorted out dirty washing and put on a wash, (about to hang up and put on another one...)
- Tidied kitchen,
- made DS empty and refil dishwasher as he hadn't done it yesterday,
- cleaned out a draw as we have lost some keys and they could have been in there
- cleaned all around kitchen (apart from cooker hob and a couple of cupboard fronts that have splashes - will need to go back to those)
- Cleaned downstairs loo including skirtings as looking decidedly dirty
- cleaned walls in hallway as dogs keep laying against them and leaving dirty marks
- vacuumed kitchen floor, stairs and hallway (need to mop both later)
Not caught up on posts only this page (11 pages since I was last on! ) but will try later.
Toot - if you can't find curtains the right length, try adding a contrasting fabric to the bottom of another one - I often have this problem with houses we are staging - also, if it is only for one door, you normally have to buy a pair, so you could use the bottom of the other curtain to lengthen it and maybe add a band of something over the join to hide?
Also, meal planning is easy (once you have done it for a while anyway) firstly, think of what you would like throughout the week - think on where you will be and what days need to be quick meals and when you can spend more time on others, then check your storecupboards/fridge/freezers to make sure you have the ingredients that you need for each meal, if you haven't, either add them to your shopping list if you really want that meal, or think of something else that you do have the stuff for.
I think a lot of people list what is in their cupboards/fridge/freezer first then do a meal plan from that, but I like to be different, but it is up to you and whether you want to resist going to the shops... HLH

Froddy - pleased to hear your dad’s op went well.
Mudbath – Glad you enjoyed The Duchess – might see if I can get anyone to come to that – not least because it was filmed locally. That’s where I go with my mate hiking! Thrilled – this year, for the first time, to see the deer.
Ooh just been to town, and, where I park there is a huge apple tree covered with beautiful cooking apples which NO-ONE will pick. I would – if I could reach.
Also – have FINALLY taken the stuff I sorted out earlier this summer to Help the Aged – thinking of the future here! A bag and a box has gone – hurrahfound DS hair stuff on offer at Sup3rdrug - so well pleased.
Sexymouse It really gets my goat when customer service advisors can't be bothered. Enjoy Cann0ns.
Got lots of washing out and have already brought some in so ironing to do - goody - and jobs to do so I can have my free day tomorrow!Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
