goldentouch, I just wanted to say good luck with completing, you sound like you had a tough time. I think everyone feels like they've bitten off more than they can chew sometimes - I'm really struggling myself at the moment as 3 years is a long time and atm I just wish it was over!

I think its normal to have to make changes after the Viva so don't feel like its just you. I've read that the most common reason that people don't get their PhD is because they start a fulltime job and don't ever get round to finishing the rewriting at the end. So just keep going for this last strech and you will have acheived more than lots of other students - and they probably didn't have to cope with the children, illness and part time job!
:shhh: There's somewhere you can go and get books to read... for free!

goldentouch I agree with zar! BC (Before Children) I used to work in the postgrad office of a university and yes, examiners often ask for changes, sometimes quite major, just plug away. Some people did give up at that stage: initially the university was quite generous with extensions but it really tightened up while I was there (because it didn't look good if people didn't finish but kept extending deadline!)

And from seeing friends completing theirs, it was big stress. But not long to go now, just keep at it!

    Good luck!
