Jvc Dvd - Recorder Audio Noise

Hi - apologies up front for the lack of techie knoweldge here. I'm trying to hook up a dvd player and vcr to my tv.

The back of my TV has 2 scart sockets which I've connected my VCR and DVD to respectively. I then switch my TV to AV1 and get good quality picture and signal from my VCR. I can only get DVD playback from my DVD when I switch my TV to AV2.

Thing is - I am unable to tune my DVD to TV stations also and the audio quality on DVD playback is poor. Is there a way of getting a TV signal to both my VCR and DVD players ?

I presume you mean DVD recorder? If you do mean DVD player there is no need to 'tune ' it in! If you have a DVD recorder you will need to take the aerial lead and plug it into the correct socket (marked RF or aerial in) on the back of the machine. You should have a lead that then connects from the RF/Aerial/TV socket to the aerial input of your TV. Follow the instruction manual for tuning it in.

As to the problems with sound quality, what is the problem? Is the picture OK? Have you made sure that the scart leads are very firmly pushed in on both the DVD machine and TV?
