Hotel Accomodation near Liverpool LPL Airport

Options
Hi

My friend and I are flying into Liverpool LPL Airport for 2 days and was wondering if anybody could advise on any good hotels near the airport/town. Also any tips on good places to shop and eat would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance! :T

If you are looking for a fairly luxurious stay in a 4* hotel for a reasonable price, we stayed at the Crown Plaza John Lennon Airport a few weeks ago... see the hotel website here:

    http://www.ichotelsgroup.com/h/d/cp/925/en/hd/lplcp?crUrl=/h/d/cp/925/en/hotelsearchresults&rpb=hotel&_requestid=91409

However we actually booked it through https://www.laterooms.com (search for John Lennon). We got it for £80 per night (including full breakfast for two) for an executive room. I can honestly say it was one of the nicest hotels I've stayed in for a long time and it's right next to the airport so will be easy for you on arrival/departure! However, it is a way out of the city centre (at a rough estimate about 20 mins by car) so you'd need to check out transport costs. We had an evening meal at the hotel and it was OK but a little overpriced for what it was in my opinion. It has a swimming pool, sauna etc (although we didn't use these so can't say how nice they are).

There is a large retail park right opposite the hotel with lots of big stores (M&S, River Island, Borders Books etc etc etc).

We went to see an exhibition at the Tate Liverpool... it's free to get into the main museum (sometimes charge for visiting exhibitions though) and it is well worth visiting IMHO. If you like art and the weather isn't too bad I'd also recommend a visit to Crosby Beach to see the Anthony Gormley installation.

If that hotel is not what you want then you could try searching for other hotels in Liverpool on the laterooms site and check the reviews on https://www.tripadvisor.com.

HTH and have a great time.

When are the dates you arrive/want to stay over? Holiday Inn have got some good deals on including a 2 for 1 deal.
  • Hi,

  • It`s nice to be important, but its more important to be nice.

Express by Holiday inn Liverpool-John Lennon Airport which is 1 mile from the airport and 9 miles from the city centre is £57.80 per room per night.

The Crowne Plaza Hotel at the airport is
obviously more upmarket and includes a full breakfast (not just a continental one like the holiday inn express) is £64 per room per night.

Express By Holiday Inn LIVERPOOL-KNOWSLEY M57, JCT.4 which is around 5 miles from Liverpool city centre and 13 miles from the airport is only £37.50 per room per night.

2 of the Liverpool travelodges are booked up for those dates and the other is over £90 for one night! There is a £29 room at Wirral Eastham but thats 20 miles from the airport and 16 miles to the city centre.
  • Hi,

Thank you so much for all the help and ideas. Would there be any local hotels in or near the town? We would like sort of middle of the road, so that if we wanted we could eat in the hotel and maybe have a drink in the hotel and not have to venture out at night, but that would be close enough to walk into the town.
    Thanks again.
  • It may not be the cheapest but I often stay at the liverpool airport marriott hotel. it is built inside the old art-deco terminal building of the airport. I really like it.

I checked the Ibis and the Jury Inn (city centre location) but they are fully booked for the 11th. Obviously the closer you go to the city centre the more expensive it is.
  • I also checked a few I found on-line that seem to be fully booked too! Must be something exciting happening on these dates. Trust me - we were hoping for a couple of quiet girlie days!!
