  • Just replaced my Bridgestones (er30) did 30,000 miles. Now gone for Pirelli

I prefer to stick to brands. Have you looked at Autoexpress etc for reviews?

    Oh dear...

You do know that the number after the "P" on a Pirelli means how many miles they will last before going out of shape...

    :D

I don't rate Pirellis. They are poor in the wet but good in the dry. Because we live in the wet UK and have damp mornings they aren't suitable. I normally put Michelins for high mileage on my company car and Goodyear Eagle F1s on the family cars.

federal 535 super steels, great value, great amount of miles for the price, i got 20k out of my last set and cost 200 quid fitted,i just bought another set,220 this time, great handling in wet and dry.
remember though it has to be the 535 super steels, dont go for any other federal as they dont handle just as well.
+1 for the Federals, a little known brand but done me well on the last car I had and good in wet and dry. Bit of a trade secret I think ;)

Michelin energy (on the back) still Ok after 85000 miles, fronts last around 40000. Hard tyres though, not such good grip. No good for boy racers, but 80mph all day is no problem.
This is an open forum, anyone can post and I just did !

No! I'd not be too happy with that either.

In my teens 6k was a good result from a set of tyres.

I get about 30k from a set of Michelin Energys on the driven rear axle.
