Scottish Power - Confused about Electric Tariff

Hi All,
Just a quick question. I'm moving into a flat later in the month. Unfortunately, it has storage heating.. We will not be using the storage heaters, but because we will rent the flat, can't have them ripped out.
I'm confused with the tariffs offered because I assume I have to be on a Economy 7 tariff, yes (because of the storage heating) but how do I know how much money i'll be spending?
Thanks,

If you don't know, how would we?
What is it you are not sure of - how much energy you will use or deciphering their tariffs?
Note that not all companies will let you run an Economy 7 meter on a standard or online tariff - finding the sum of two numbers is beyond them!0 -
Sorry, I didn't explain myself very clearly at all, lol.
I am having trouble understanding their tariffs, I can't find a standard "Economy 7" tariff anywhere under their pricing details. I can however, see things like "Online Saver 4" and "Domestic Tariff".... etc.
Will they estimate I will use £60 per month and then charge me that, and pay me a cheque, or I pay them the rest at the end of the year... or will it change from month to month, and I just pay that amount each month.
They won't give me many details on the phone until I move in.0 -
Yes, you're right. Scottish Power's website isn't very clear and the pdfs themselves are even worse!
Go to
http://scottishpower.co.uk/Home_Energy/Product_Prices/
and choose one of the tariffs
then click the
Click here for the pricing information for XYZ customers.
to download the pdf.
Then look through the pdf and look for the pages that include Day and Night rates - those are the economy 7 costs. (Hmm. tried that myself and I'm confused.)
Tell you what, use one of the online calculators (simplyswitch includes Economy 7) and remember to check the Economy 7 box.0 -
Hi,
on the Scottish Power tariff, Scottish Power Area, it's called White Meter
No.1, Economy 7 is the ManWeb Area version.
September 2008 Prices:
13 Manweb Economy 7

I'm in the South West (Gloucestershire) area.
Thanks for all the help.
I'm still confused as to whether those prices are cheap, average or pricey. But I'll stick with them for a couple of months and see what happens!0
