Help with my washing machine and econ 7 please

Im trying to work out that if we put a timer set to come on when Economy 7 starts (1am) if it shall switch the machine on for us. Hubby says it wont as its a newish machine.
To start the machine you just have to press a button in. Its a hoover. I cannot see why if we set it to come on and press the buttons in then quickly delay the timer why it wont.
Any advice please as my electric bill is sky high

    Hi narabanekeater,

I'm afraid that I haven't any answers for you, but you may get some advice on the In My Home board, so I hope that you don't mind if I move your thread over there.

Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email !!!!!!.

My DW is the same and needs you to press the start button. this is what you do:-

Put the powder/liguid in the drum not the soap drawer or it will clog once damp.

Plug the machine into a timer which you have set the overide to ON.

Programme the machine as normal and turn on. As soon as it begins to fill flick the timer to TIMED.

You have now halted the programme and when the timer turns on the machine will continue to fill, heat and wash. HTH
