Average Gas, Elec and Water costs
Options
Hi
I'm trying to work out a budget for getting a place of my own but am a little out of touch when it comes to utility bills.
Can anyone give me an idea on how much a single person living in say a 2 bedroom terrace or 1 bedroom flat might pay for utilities. I guess it changes region by region but i'm looking at the midlands in a rural area but towns are not out of the question.
Thanks

If you look at the last two or three weeks' threads on this and the water board, you'll see there are several threads asking similar questions. Most have replies - you'll probably get more info looking at them than on a new thread.
Does depend on where you live but also what you use and how you live.0 -
i live with my gf, and we spend £30 a month for both so about £15 for gas, £15 for electric in these summer months. Have not tried winter yet, obv gas willl go up for winter, and electric also a little.
Water, if on a meter you will pay around £18 a month (estimated) if ur single.
For 2 ppl we pay £34 a month estimated.
Tho this is in south, i doubt it changes massively.
However, scotish power take £80 a month for duel fuel a month (electric and gas), as thats what they've estimated, tho i'll be due a big refund.0 -

Hmm. When in south west, we (family of six) paid £65 water rates for a large house. Now in East Anglia on a water meter, we are paying £35 a month - this was estimated but has been enough to pay our first 6 month bill. No shower, baths only but not much used in garden, car washing etc.0 -
yeah im expecting a big refund to be fair at the end.0
