Hi Folks,
Questions from a home cinema newbie
My big telly is on the decline and I have just aquired a 7' projector screen so....
Always fancied using a projector instead of big telly, I think i've got my head round connecting the video side /sky/video/dvd (great info on https://www.avforums.com )
How do you connect all the audio ??
Do you feed it all into a surround system ?? if so how many inputs do these have ?
Whats the best way to control all this as its bad enough with 3 remotes !!
apologies if these are basic questions but we all start somewhere
Thanks in advance

There should be separate audio outputs on your source components i.e. digital outputs (optical or co-axial or possibly HDMI if you have a suitably equipped processor/amp) and analogue, usually RCA phono sockets. Just connect these to your processor/amplifier, and select the appropriate input when watching something.
If you are choosing your surround system or processor / amplifier make sure you have enough suitable audio inputs for your current equipment plus a few more for any future additions to your system
As to remote controls, you may find that the processor/amp you choose has a remote with a learning facility or you could buy a ‘universal’ remote control at a later date.
Don’t forget that when you have got your speakers in place to go through the set up procedure to balance the sound for your listening position.

If you're near a Richer Sounds with a demo room you should get much better advice (although it's a long time since I bought any hi-fi). Sounds like you've already sussed the 'got one meself' type 'advisors' anyway. Link for Richer - http://ws4.richersounds.com/splashpage.php0
