Stop Moaning!

The trouble with you lot is that you expect far too much. Nobody has a god-given right to a a home and you should be grateful that we, in this country, find suitable accommodation for homeless people - even if it is a bit cramped.

Instead of focusing on the negatives you should count your blessings!

You have shelter from this f$£!ing awful weather - and even if you have to share your drawing-room with 5 other families that isn't such a bad thing. Indeed, it can be beneficial for good mental health socialising with other's on a regular basis - even if they are a step beneath you. Oh, and it's good for your immune system too! Just think of all those nasty diseases you'll be immune from too (except Nits - Nits are hard to eradicate unless you comb, comb, comb).

You should take advantage of this current hardship - going without is good for the soul. It makes Man strong! It puts the Great into Britain.

Instead of whining and moaning, appreciate the fact that you have a roof over your head! In some countries people live in tin sheds!!

Sorry, but if you have only joined MSE to have a go at people, you won't last long. People work long and hard to save up and get a house, either renting or buying, and don't need people like you putting them down.

Suspect people living in tin sheds aren't paying stupid council tax costs and utilities etc.

    Er... pardon?!

People on these boards are working and saving huge percentages of their earnings to buy a house. They get mortgages that see them pay back over double the the asking price of the house... and yet you say they are 'EXPECTING' something?! I think you'll find it's called 'EARNING' and 'PAYING FOR'...

BTW not owning your own home does not make you homeless. As I've said before, the alternative to owning is renting.

I'm a bit confused about your views of the general public in Britain... I don't know anyone who "shares a drawing room with 5 other families". I'm not sure I know anyone who even HAS a drawing room.

I don't mean to nit pick but this is the HOUSING board where you can get advice on house buying, selling or renting – advice on nits is not usually given here. If you have a problem, perhaps you should pick up something from the chemist?

If I don't respond to your posts, it's probably because you're on my 'Ignore' list.

    I've been Money Tipped!
TBF there are lots of real moaners about! I'm a strong believer in counting my blessings, in fact I kind of make a daily ritual. I DO share my mother's drawing room, and while there are only two 'families' (my parents and DH and I) sometimes it feels like five, lol!

Going without is good for your soul, I agree, but going WITH what you earned and paid for is even better! In a very limited sense I could apply the OP to some people, but I think, increasingly, its a preach to the converted! (not the moaning bit, thats the great national past time isn't it? ;))
