  • Not so sure that fundamentalist religious programmes are appropriate for this site.

    Huh?

"This DVD contains teacher and pupil material for 16 multi-faith lessons that support the QCA's guidelines for exploring origins questions with 11-14s. It offers Christian, Islamic, Hindu and Humanist perspectives."

(Religious Education is part of the curriculum)

Intolerance is usually based on ignorance. Thanks OP!!!!

you've obviously not bothered to look at the website before posting your comment. it's hardly a "fundamentalist" religious programme
  • Surely any RE teachers would already have this if they wanted it through their usual educational channels? I think that all things to do with all religions are best left out of this forum. I also am of the opinion that the title of the website kind of gives the game away (if you have noticed the 'Christian Books' bit of it). I am also fully aware of the debates concerning schools adding Religious Education elements to Science lessons.

Perhaps you should all calm down - I was not insulting or abusive, I expressed my opinion that this should be posted elsewhere.

no one said you were insulting or abusive, just wrong. it's not a "fundamentalist" site. you're perfectly within your rights to express your views and i happen to agree with you about religion being kept out of the forums, but as things stand, there's no rule that says you can't post something because it has religious content.

regardless of your or my views about religion, we have to let people decided for themselves, what they want and want they don't want.

There are many home educators on this site that are vastly grateful for lorwelds' (and others') useful posts.

Its not about religion on here its about moneysaving. All nutcase god botherers can find plenty of places to rave on about their bronze age myths and lunatic beliefs in God (so many to choose from!)

The poster was right that this doesnt belong here.

you're as bad as any fundamentalist, i read your post on the free books thread

that's just your opinion and you're entitled to it. you should show a little more tollerence and respect for other people's beliefs though, whether you agree with them or not.

    How insulting!

You should be prevented from posting if this is typical of your comments. You are the only one who has expressed extreme views. Why have you got such a hatred of people whom you do not understand? You are a dangerously unbalanced individual.

  • I had a look & listened to the trial material and it looks very good and has different views. Working with secondary students isn't easy when they HATE RE lessons but this looks visually good and they might relate to this rather than ANOTHER boring book yawn! A lot of boys are visual learners so thanks for this website.
