Does your energy company (or someone other company-Transco?) have a duty to move your gas meter to another position if as a disabled person you cannot read it and haven't got anyone able bodied to read it for you?

there are free services to relocate a mtr if you are disabled and cannot get access to your mtr on safety reasons but I do not beleive they will move it for free if you cannot read it as your gas supplier is responsible for providing a meter and organising for your meter to be read. You should contact your gas supplier for any issues regarding your gas meter. You will find contact details for your gas supplier on your gas bill.
If it is merely a problem of reading the meter yourself then contact your gas supplier or if it is a problem of access firstly contact National Grid enquiries line who will then check which gas transporter covers your area and give you their contact details
