Acting As A Middleman on Ebay

plus you don't even own the item you are selling. you would end up auctioning an item, then trying to order it only to find its maybe out of stock.
lots of people buy up bargains and resell them on ebay. then at least you have the stock in hand0 -
A few possible problems with this....:
1 -- If I was the seller I'd refuse to send to an address other than YOUR ( the bidder's address )...too many scams are carried out with dodgy addresses.
2 -- If I did ship to a 3rd party address I'd make sure they knew exactly who had sold it...i.e. it would come out that you were 3rd partying it which other posters have said might lead to dissatisfaction if someone thought they'd paid you more than they could have bought it for.
3 -- What if the goods weren't to the ultimate buyer's satsfaction?
4 -- What if they turn up damaged/broken/not working?
On the last two points you'd be up against the clock for returns etc..........
I'm not criticising....just contemplating some potential pitfalls that might help you decide either way.
mikeif i had known then what i know now0 -
dependant on the amount of good feedback you have, you used to be able to register as an ebay trading assistant, whereby you would be approached by small companies and private sellers with little time to list and sell their goods for them on ebay. You would then get a specified percentage of the selling price.
I assume the program is still running but to be honest i havent looked for ages.
edit.. yep its still going trading assistant0 -
People do drop ship using amazon and play.com. I think both will send gift receipts with the item. Your buyer will then know the source but not the price you paid.
The downside is that the buyer will soon realise that they could have ordered from your supplier themselves and saved money.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
